How the DMK will observe the death anniversary of Periyar?

A ``rationale, secular and anti-communal'' Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has now taken the religious path to reform the society (!).
The party has announced that it would organise special poojas in view of the death anniversary of its founder and former Chief Minister C N Annadurai in as many as 31 temples in Chennai. And almost all the front-ranking ministers would participate in the poojas while Karunanidhi's son M K Stalin would preside over the poojas at Chithiputhi Vinayagar temple in Royapettah.
We may not see it as a logical conclusion of the gradual deviation and dilution of the DMK's `rational' thinking or the party's prayer to the God to save its Government from the present politcal crisis, particularly in connection with the killings Sri Lankan Tamils or to appease the God believers in view of the forthcoming Parliament elections.
But the question is how the party is going to observe the death anniversary of its political mentor E V R Periyar?
No wonder, the party, under the able leadership of ``atheist'' Karunanidhi, may organise fire-walks in all temples in Tamil Nadu to `uphold' the principles of Periyar.
